Vacation Packages & Specials
These are
side trips and sightseeing adventures that can be combined with wine
country trips to the Yakima Valley that are centered around the
Comfort Inn at Zillah, a friendly motel more like a bed and
breakfast inn. The owners and staff don’t just work in the Inn; they
live in the valley and can help you arrange the details and payment
for any of these trips. Give us a call at (509) 829-3399.

Tours |
-
A tour of the milk processing plant in Sunnyside and their Dairy Fair shop. In addition to the world famous wine grapes of the valley, the Yakima Valley has some of the states largest and most productive dairies. Many of these dairies market their milk to the Sunnyside Darigold plant. This plant has a great tour of their milk processing facility. A gift shop at the end of the tour has many “cow” souvenirs. There is no fee for the tour. Limo transportation would cost approximately $40 per person from the Comfort Inn for 4.
- Take the Bickleton blue bird tour (http://bluebirds.bickleton.org/). The good citizens of Bickleton decided to create a blue bird sanctuary by putting up literally hundreds of blue bird houses with circular openings just right for bluebirds. The boxes must be cleaned every year to encourage the blue birds to return so the community has a substantial investment in these birds. Driving the main street through town and the surrounding countryside you will first see the boxes, but as you continue to look you will start to see bluebirds. Eventually you will discover that the bluebirds are everywhere. Stop at the Bickleton Ice Cream store for a hard packed sundae and buy a blue bird souvenir. See the largest carousel in the northwest at the Bickleton Park. This is a great road trip and requires 3 to 4 hours from the Inn. Limo transportation for this outing would be approximately $70 per person for 4.
- There are several direct consumer farms in the valley. The world famous Yakima Valley grows 75% of the hops in the world, half the apples in the state, almost all of the mint in the country, and has a salad greens community that keeps many of our local restaurants in produce. A Farm Direct Marketing Map is available for self guided tours, or a Limo tour can be arranged and can be provided. Jones farm has a short walking tour. This is a summer tour. Limo transportation for the agricultural exploration tour and a 3 to 4 hour tour with half a dozen stops will cost approximately $75. The farms do not have entry fees but do appreciate purchases.
